Dr. Sreenivas Naidu

Dr. Sreenivas Naidu

Dr. Sreenivas Naidu is a visionary leader in Research and Development, with a remarkable career spanning over two decades in mechanical engineering. His extensive experience includes pivotal roles in wind energy, rail, off-highway machinery, steel, and bearings industries. Renowned for his mechanical design and product development expertise, Dr. Naidu has driven innovation through finite element analysis and application engineering. His leadership in the Rail Application Engineering team at Timken Engineering and Research India has set a benchmark for excellence in supporting railway systems globally. Under his guidance, the Advanced Analysis team has excelled in delivering solutions for sectors such as wind energy, automotive, aerospace, and primary metals. Dr. Naidu's contributions include developing cutting-edge engineering tools and managing complex projects involving off-highway equipment and high-performance engines. Beyond his technical prowess, Dr. Naidu is known for his dedication to customer training, condition monitoring systems, and organizing impactful trade shows and seminars. His profound expertise and leadership continue to inspire innovation and set new standards across various engineering disciplines.

Dr. Sreedevi Upadhyayula

THERMOCHEMICAL WATER SPLITTING PROCESS DEVELOPMENT – A Case of Industry-Academia Nexus

In her talk, Dr. Upadhyayula will explore the promising potential of thermochemical cycles for water splitting as a sustainable method for large-scale hydrogen production. She will review various hydrogen production routes through thermochemical and hybrid cycles, discussing recent advances, major challenges, and future directions related to their design and scale-up. The focus will be on an efficient thermochemical process developed and demonstrated at IIT Delhi, supported by a long-term collaboration with the ONGC Energy Centre, showcasing a 15-year journey from ideation to technology demonstration.
Dr. Sreedevi Upadhyayula is a distinguished chemical engineer with extensive experience spanning both industry and academia. She earned her M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and began her career as a Senior Design Engineer in the public and private sectors. Following a PhD from the National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune, and postdoctoral research at the University of Notre Dame, she joined IIT Kharagpur as an Assistant Professor. Currently, she holds the CLASS of 66 Chair Professor position at IIT Delhi.


Dr. Satya Chakravarthy

Dr. Satya Chakravarthy is a Professor of Aerospace Engineering at IIT Madras, where he has been a faculty member since 1997. He earned his B.Tech from IIT Madras and M.S. and Ph.D. from Georgia Tech, USA. His research focuses on propulsion and combustion in gas turbines, rocket engines, and electric aircraft. He leads the National Centre for Combustion Research & Development (NCCRD) at IIT Madras, the largest center of its kind globally, and the DRDO Centre of Propulsion Technology. He has received several prestigious awards, including the HAL Prize, the Young Engineer Award by the Indian National Academy of Engineering, and the DRDO Academic Excellence Award.

Beyond academia, Dr. Chakravarthy is the Founder and Technical Lead of The ePlane Company, which is developing hybrid aerial vehicles. He is also a director at Agnikul Cosmos and Aerostrovilos, focusing on space and power generation technologies, respectively. Additionally, he mentors Team Avishkar Hyperloop at IIT Madras and advises several tech startups, including NewTrace and GalaxEye. Dr. Chakravarthy is an accomplished speaker with TEDx talks and numerous online lectures, sharing his expertise in combustion and aerospace engineering with a global audience.


Mr. Shaik Aleem Ur Rehaman

Evolution of Modern SoC Architectures for AI/ML Workload and High Bandwidth Computations

In his upcoming talk, Mr. Aleem will delve into the latest trends in processors, memory, and fabrics, highlighting the essential skills needed for students and researchers aiming to excel in this domain. He will shed light on open-source tools and AI-based infrastructure for chip design and verification, as well as discuss government and industry initiatives in India that are driving semiconductor growth. The session will feature a fireside chat and Q&A, offering valuable insights and practical guidance for those interested in the semiconductor industry.

He is a distinguished ASIC Design and Verification Engineer with over 8 years of experience at the forefront of semiconductor technology. Currently at Microsoft, Aleem specializes in IP/Sub-System and SoC level design, with a focus on ultra-low-power dual-band radio chips and WiFi protocol verification. His expertise includes working with ARM Cortex processors, flash memory, and advanced verification methodologies.

Mr. Nahar Singh

AI Trends in Automotive Field

In his talk, Mr. Nahar will explore how AI is revolutionizing the automotive industry, making vehicles smarter, safer, and more efficient. He will discuss the latest trends in Generative AI (GenAI), highlighting advancements in vehicle design, prototyping, personalization, testing, simulation, and production optimization. Attendees can expect insights into current AI trends in the automotive field, as well as practical examples of how AI is reshaping the driving and ownership experience.
He is a seasoned professional and an alumnus of IIT Guwahati, currently advancing innovations at Continental. With extensive experience in autonomous driving, security, safety, and Industry 4.0, Nahar excels in integrating AI solutions across edge devices and cloud platforms. His expertise includes machine learning, image processing, and computer vision, driving successful projects with a focus on cutting-edge technology.

Case studies on process transformation from laboratory scale to commercial scale

CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory has strong capabilities in developing innovative processes and products for import substitution across various segments of the chemical industry. CSIR-NCL has developed innovative processes for import substitution in the chemical industry. Their work on flow reactors, continuous processes, and reactive distillation has improved performance, safety, and sustainability. This talk will present case studies for paracetamol, IBB, BPA, and plastic waste depolymerization.

Clothing Dynamics on 3D people

This talk will present a novel approach to 3D human digitization and garment simulation. We will discuss how SMPL body parameterization can be used to capture human motion from monocular video and how this data can be leveraged to train a particle-based neural garment simulator. Our method overcomes limitations of existing approaches by learning the physical dynamics of garment vertices conditioned on underlying body shape, motion, and fabric properties, enabling generalization across various garment types, topologies, and fabric materials.
